The ONLY 2 CHARTER BOATS TO CATCH BLUE MARLIN IN THE TOURNAMENT

Sunday 31st August 2008

Well the 3 day Pasito Blanco Big Game Tournament with 34 boats entered.
DAY 1. CAVALIER were the 3rd boat to hook up on this day. Raising 2 fish anglers on Board Denise Burrell-clements and John Eatherton who joined together to charter the cavalier for the tournament. Johns Reel screamed off to the tune of a 120/140kilos/280lbs Blue Marlin. After a fight of approximately 25minuets the fish was caught and released. This was Johns 1st Blue Marlin and his dream of catching one of these majestic creatures was fulfilled. Well Done to John and Crew of Cavalier.
DAY 1 - DORADO There run of bad luck continued today after raising 2 Blue Marlin one hooked up on the Bill and threw the hooks and lure 2 feet in the air and bad luck for the anglera Heather, Alan and friends who were previous puerto rico tournament winners.
DAY 2 CAVALIER- They held on to their 3rd place position today even though they never raised any fish. GREAT news for Cavalier.
DAY 2 DORADO- sh**t only 1 hour after start a Blue Marlin of approx 200kilos took on the short rigger and YOU can guess the rest ( bill hooked again) NO luck today for dorado and anglers.
DAY 3 CAVALIER- They raised a Blue Marlin on the Long Rigger and this also through the hooks. This fish would have given Cavalier overall 2nd Place
Bad Luck for Cavalier and Anglers.
DAY 3 DORADO- Tactical changes , Heather Rimmer Baptised the Boat ( trade secret) and this resulted in a Blue Marlin of approx 180kilos/360lbs taking on the short rigger and thgrew the hooks only to go to the long rigger, screamed off and tossed the lure in the air. Many Marlin are not taking properly due to the amount of bait in the waters. Dorado was not finished though approx 30mins Later Yes they HOOKed up and this one stayed Hooked . Angler Alexander Rowlandson from Cumbria ( affectionately known as Aka) The Rimmer Nephew was nominated to play the fish. Aka Expertly played this Blue Marlin to the Boat in approx 25mins despite having Disc problems in his back. This Marlin was estimated at 600lbs / 260kilos Beautiful specimen Glowing a Vibrant Blue a fantastic spectical for all to see on the Boat.
CONCLUSION- Well done to Cavalier for holiding on to 3rd Place and Angler John Eatherton from Essex England. Both Boats ended up with 1 Blue Marlin and I must point out that NO OTHER CHARTER BOATS FROM PUERTO RICO CAUGHT BLUE MARLIN IN THE TOURNAMENT. well done to both boats we are impressed.

My apologies to all avid viewers of our website but We have been having a little Hiccup with the Server and just so you know We will be down for work next Wednesday 27th August 2008.
WELL DOWN TO FISHING :-
WOW! what a day for both boats.
On the 9am to 3pm trip today Dorado boat had 4 Blue Marlin up. The 1st snatching at 3 lures and the 2nd Blue Marlin takes on a german clients rod and is well and truly hooked. Line screaming from the Reel, fish jumping and guess what ! Well the client went to the rod dropped the drag fully and after crew and all on board screaming at him NO;NO; go to the chair he then decided to put full drag on. YOU Guessed it an almighty CRACK and FISH, LURE etc All gone. After re rigging his rod and new lure going out No. 3 blue Marlin of the day comes and you guessed it straight back to this anglers lure. The client decides to go yet again to his rod all other clients on board pulling him away and you guessed it number 3 was Gone. This anglers son Christisian did better than his dad and did have some nice bonito tuna
Number 4 blue marlin comes and thank goodness takes on another anglers rod and screams off and on the run the hooks are thrown -Bad Luck young angler Sam. What a day and the crew Have a few more Grey hairs(and paul hasn´t any)
William Machin from England also had some nice Bonito Tuna.
What a nerve racking trip for all on board today.
CAVALIER today on the 9am to 3pm trip did not raise any Blue Marlin BUT had a 2nd trip 3pm to 8pm and had a Double strike of Blue Marlin of which one was lost and ANGLER Peter from England played the other to Tag & release. Also on this evening trip they had a spearfish come to the lures but not take.
CONGRATULATIONS TO Angler Peter and crew of Cavalier.

What are the Marlin doing?

Monday 18th August 2008

Cavalier today had a hook up with a Blue Marlin which took 100meters of line and then through the hook and also during the day they raised another Blue Marlin which did not take. Thats fishing Folks!
Dorado also Today raised a Blue Marlin but this one also was not interested.
They still must be filling themselves with the abundance of mackeral during the Night.
Tomorrow is another Day so lets hope we have some cloud cover tonight.

Saturday and sundays fishing update

Sunday 17th August 2008

Saturday saw approx 10 Blue Marlin raised by 23 various trolling boats of which one was the Dorado boat. Unfortunately most of the Marlins where either strikes/ lost or Just looking at the Lures- Thats fishing folks.Cavalier today no sightings or strikes
Sunday Dorado was chartered and what an experience
1st Blue Marlin came and chased 3 sperate lures but NO contact. The 2nd Blue Marlin struck Run and through the hooks after some fantastic head shakes viewed by anglers Heather Rimmer and myself No 3 again another Hook up and yet again ran off over 100meters of line shook its head and then adios. These Marlin are surely bill hooked. Once the hooks penetrate they are ours for the taking.
Number 4 was up sunbathing its head out of the water thrashing about What a fantastic sight but obviously NOT hungry. Then to top it off a Spearfish preambling amongst the lures 5 meters from the back of the boat but again not Hungry. Maybe it is right what they say about the FULL moon that the fish are gorging all night because for sure these beauties did not attack the lures as if they were ravished. The Sea is full of Bait both mackerel and bonito tuna.
Lets hope they start to fancy something more appetising like our Lures and that MOON does not shine so bright.
