Marlin showing again.
Saturday 4th September 2010
Friday was again chartered by Myndert Claasen and his two sons but unfortunately for all we were unable to produce the Blue Marlin they were looking for. We would like to thank them for chartering the Dorado.
Saturday saw the fish Starting to show again as numerous fish were raised by the various boats resulting in a few hook ups. so lets hope this is the start of them showing again.
3rd Hammerhead this week.
Thursday 2nd September 2010
Sadly today No Marlin were hooked by any boat even though there were plenty of baitfish. For the 3rd consequtive ay we had a Hammerhead Shark around the Boat we did not waste time trying to hook up as our charter clients were looking for Marlin. But due the the lack of them today maybe not trying for the Hammerhead was a mistake on our behalf.
WE will try again tomorrow.
2 Blue Marlin and 1 Hammerhead
Wednesday 1st September 2010
Yesterday only Bonitos and small Dorados showed for our efforts. But Today the Blue Marlin made their appearance. At 10.30 approx we raised a Marlin around 250/280 kilos a Beautiful specimen which slashed at the long rigger several times and shadowed the lure for 4 /5 minuets before fading. The 2nd Blue Marlin arrived 1 and a half hours later and came twice before it pulled the clips and ran off line. The ever vigilant Captain Roberto gave the clients plenty of time to focus on the lure with an early cry of Marlin giving them the opportunity to see this rare spectacular sight BUT unfortunately all was in vain because the leader was bill wrapped and the fish slipped down into the depths. On the way back to Puerto Rico we Teased a Big Hammerhead Shark to the boat 3 times but it failed to take the bait but all clients enjoyed seeing this magnificant creature in its natural enviroment and They will have some nice photos to re-live the event.A SPECIAL thank you goes to Clive Hand for enetertaining all on board over the last 3 days and also for supplying the crew with 5 star Pastries and Cakes (Where did he get them from?)
